Thank you to Brent, Lesley and Graham for responding to my email. First Brent, thank you I will followup on the information you have provided. I believe the birth registration for James is a child belonging to Michael Minton who arrived on the PrInce Regent 1 (2) or (3) on 15th July 1824. He was convicted in Dublin County in 1820, his crime being -having forged notes, he was aged 36 yrs. and his term was 14yrs This MM had 3 children to Rose Murray (John,James and Michael). I have found that there are many cases where information on the MM arriving1821 and the MM arriving 1824 have been combined and presented as one persons history; probably because there are several similarities eg. name' place and year of conviction. Lesley,I found the records on MM Prince Regent1 (2) or (3) 1824 at Kingswood on roll 2662. In the Melbourne State Library they only had the Microfiche. This MM was not mentioned on the list of convicts leaving the Prince Regent1 (2) at Port Jackson, however, he is mentioned on microfiche 658 Masters and Other Papers. Here they have him as Michael Menton. Prince Regent 1 (3) and the words Prince Regent 1 (2) hand written on the top of the microfiche.? I checked the microfiche re the list of names at the place of departure for the convicts on the prince Regent 1824 and there was no M Menton just M Minton so I thought it was safe to think that M Menton and M Minton are the same convict. However, it is the Michael Minton arriving in 1821 and indented to John Wylde that I am following. I hope I have got this right but I am more then happy to be corrected and I am open to any ideas. Graham, the first death certificate I have belongs to my g/grandfather John Minton. John died on the 21st Feb, 1912 , 76yrs., place of death Coonabarabran Hospital, NSW.
