Hi Elizabeth, many thanks for replying, the way I received the information from a family historian was:- 'Margaret didn't die, she some time later married 'THE Mayor of Tenterfield' and they went on to have several more children'. I have written to the Tenterfield Council asking if they can give me a list of their Mayors between 1894 and 1900 and I will look for a marriage in both NSW and QLD BDMs. Unfortunately if she did choose to revert to her maiden name 'Margaret Jones that name is so common it makes the job of identifying her with any certainty almost impossible as the are so many of them. I also have a William Smith on an unrelated branch who is also a brick wall for the same reason. Being close to the Q'ld border they could have married there, or she may just have taken his name, and not married at all. I hope all the siblings were re-united at some stage. All part of life's little mysteries. Thank you for sharing this with us.
