I am trying to determine is one of these men was the Edward Wilson who married a Mary Ann Gunningham/Cunningham in 1841. I have found 2 other Edward Wilsons who were not convicted but have been able to eliminate them as not being the man I am researching. Cheers Cheryl

    3. None of them applied for permission to marry whilst still classed as a convict - therefore you could probably discount numbers 1, 4 and 5. Number 4 also appears to have had problems and did spend a few years on Cockatoo Island from about 1845. Number 6 is not listed on the Indent for the Guildford 1816 although there was a Peter Wilson who arrived on that transport. So that leaves numbers 2 and 3. Edward Wilson per the Dick was about 40 years of age when he arrived in 1821 therefore making him about 60 in 1841. It could be number 2 although the one you are after may have arrived free or been born in the colony or perhaps someone from another colony. Have you checked the 1841 Census? (State Records of NSW) May I ask why you think your Edward was a convict ? regards Lesley Uebel mailto:ckennedy@bigpond.net.au CLAIM A CONVICT http://users.bigpond.net.au/convicts/index.html -----Original Message----- From: aus-pt-jackson-convicts-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-pt-jackson-convicts-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Cheryl Woodward Sent: Wednesday, January 14, 2009 7:12 PM To: aus-pt-jackson-convicts@rootsweb.com Subject: [PJ] Edward WIlson Hi, As far as I can determine there were 6 convicts named Edward WIlson who arrived in NSW.
