Hi listers, Today I celebrate GG Grandfather-in law, John Grainger (Mangles 2) 1822. If it wasn't for this Irishman coming here, I wouldn't be sitting here typing this and I wouldn't have my family or this interest in genealogy. On another subject - trying to trace John's brother, Thomas. I found a ticket of leave for Thomas Grainger (Waterloo, 1838) from York ass. Ticket no. 46/113. I was wondering of anyone on the list has any info on this person at all. Family rumor was that Thomas was a mercenary and although Irish, could've been anywhere when put on a convict ship, if indeed a convict. Have a good St. Pat's! Regards, Marina.
