    3. June and Minuet, Perhaps we could have a thread on the most unlikely stories that our ancestors came up with in their defence. In all cases it would be unsuccessful defence, because if their defence was a success they would not have joined the select company at Port Jackson. My ancestor was done for absconding with money that his employer gave him to pay a creditor. He claimed he was only taking what was rightfully his because he had not been paid for about three months. Not accepted, take an assisted passage to PJ son.
