Kath This is very interesting - could be your grt grt gran was born there at Cavan Station when my JOHN HAWKES was working there. I always knew there were things kept secret in my family as back in those days (1950s onwards) it was considered terrible coming from convicts. The Hawkes line in particular was never discussed much. My father always said that there was a convict or two there though. He is 82 now and quite excited about all my finds. Thanks for all your assistance.
