Thank you for that clue, but his parents were Thomas and Sarah, lived in Dickleburgh, and his wife was Sarah Pearl. This shows his parents as Thomas and Mary, and does not mention a wife (I realise the form doesn't leave a space for this.) We also have a death in Norfolk in 1847 which also may be him. As his family definitely did not join him here, we were thinking along the lines of his returning to his family. It's just that there are no clues as to whether he ever left Australia.
