Hello Nita, I know this is a very long shot, but it caught my eye because I had an uncle by marriage, Thomas Hall, who died on the San Dakan death march towards the end of World War II. I suspect he would have been born early-ish in the 20th cent. and I don't know his parentage but if you find a connection to him, I can tell you a little bit more about this family as he married one of my mother's five sisters - I have a suspicion the Halls had been in Australia for a long time, although I don't think there was ever a mention to connect them to Ben Hall, and I think Tom had a sister called "Carrie" (Caroline??) His younger son stayed with us to do the Intermediate Certificate during WWll, as the rest of the family had moved from Sydney to the remote country because of the risk of bombing or invasion of Sydney. I was born just before that war started, and I can still see a lot in my mind, of what life was like then, with rations, black-out coverings on home and school window, etc., searchlights at night, but that's a topic for a different site.
