Hello Robyn Convicts John Richard Hartnett and Michael Minchan arrived on the Java on 18 November 1833. They were transferred from Hyde Park Barracks to the hulk Phoenix on 6 December. Both were teachers and were sent to Port Macquarie as "Specials" on 7 January 1834. Several other convicts were sent to Port Macquarie on the same date, but they had been on the Phoenix longer and were sent to Port Macquarie as "Specials", but for other reasons. Do you know why Edmund King was similarly held in Sydney and sent to Port Macquarie ? Cheers Ken Thompson
