>From a Bathurst newspaper - 1859 - I have a report of 'ex-convict' George Woodgate being prosecuted for 'illtreating horses'. He received 3 months Gaol. This was possibly a private prosecution as was made by a 'McGurren' rather than the Crown? Any suggestions on whether there are surviving Court records/prison records for this period.
