Isaac COATES born 1813 Birmingham convicted stealing 1833 Warwickshire and sentenced to 7 years and transported aboard the Mary to Sydney 1833. He also had a sister who was convicted of stealing and transported to Tasmania. however I do not have a lot of detail on this. I believe Isaac was assigned to a Jas H BARRATT I believe of Sydney. I am trying to find information regarding the assignment including the location and type of work involved. Can anyone help please. Once into their website I typed in his name which gave a little info :- Isaac Coates age 18, Crime - Theft : Location Ashton. Crime Date 1831. Sentence 1mHLW (One month hard labour and whipping). Q.S. 26/2/221 : Year 1832 : Term Epiphany : Case No.94 : Court - Quarter Sessions. It still doesn't state his occupation. Perhaps you could try the same search with his sister.
