    3. Hi Lesley I had a look at the index when i was in Sydney a few weeks ago. What I was actually hoping to find were more detailed references to what happened during her stay at the factory and how she came to be married to Job Stone also an ex convict. Hers is an interesting story as she was accused of "immoral conduct" while on ticket of leave and put back in the factory where she gave birth 8 months later. TROVE has given me some info but I thought the daily factory records might still exist somewhere. Thanks for your help! 3. Hi everyone, Yesterday, I attended the lunchtime lecture given by Chris Maxworthy. It was very interesting and informative lecture, and I thank him for alerting listers to the event. It was held at the office of the Australian History Society at 133 Macquarie Street, Sydney. They hold an array of artwork depicting very early Darlinghurst and surrounds, which made very interesting viewing, the lecture apart. One such piece is a panorama of the windmills of Sydney that featured in recent discussions on this list. Though not well notated, for interested parties, this may shed some light and thus be worth a trip to see where various windmills were located. Thanks again Chris. Regards, Lee

    3. Hi Bryan, in the 1828 census he is listed as a potter, free by servitude, living in Phillip Street Sydney. William Parrott, Neptune, age 25, free by servitude, mason; his wife Mary, 22, born colony, and daughter Esther 1, are living in Sussex Street. Hope this helps a little. Regards, Natalie

    3. Good day all, I'm wondering if I can have some more information on this man, so I can 'eliminate him from my enquiries'? I have his conviction date, term and place but cannot find any more details online. Would there be Permissions to Marry for any or all of these 3 possibilities on the NSW site (I can find none online): 1796 to Elizabeth Ann JAMES (? d 1814) 1821 to Ann ASHLEY (? d 1823) 1825 to Mary Moore The latter has produced some newspaper reports and there are 2 female children from this marriage. Maybe some from the previous 2 also but not under the Parrott name. There is a James' Parrott death in 1839, age 70. I want to know if we can tell if he had a boy child, named John or James. At this stage I can't see that. It would suit me if he didn't because I've followed another ancestral path, through Wm Parrott, per Neptune, 1818. But I have a brickwall with that line. Co-incidentally enough he seems to have land next to Wm Parrott's (Mary Parrott/Tyrrell). But I think that is a product of land allotment and don't think they have a relationship. One is from Hereford, the other, Nottingham. Any additional bits would be appreciated. Thank you Bryan Chch, NZ

    3. Leslie. I have thought along those lines for many years the first girl born to them here in Australia was Rachel. I searched her as his mother to no avail. The sons were Fredrick, and George (my Great grandfather) then a Daniel. I found a few of those as well but could not connect any. This is a most intriguing story there is a myth about the Fowler millions.. I was said that after Daniel died a brother came out from England to give the family money but when he found out that Bridget his widow was a Catholic nothing came to pass. I have so much correspondence from my Grandmothers cousins who conducted research just before WW2. But nothing in it just suppositions, and a story that the first non catholic to turn up and collect the million won the jackpot no wonder two of the cousins went to England funded by all of the others to find the relatives over there, then war hit and of course ruined everything... can you recommend a good researcher in England please as I know Richard has retired. The money story I am not concerned with I just want to know my family line. several times Daniel was referred to as James, in articles, that struck me that he could have had an Alias. and there was a James Fowler the Mayor of Bristol.
