Gerry you are an obliging soul...would it be possible to have a look at the Freeman's Journal for a Patrick Hoyle tried at County Louth in Lent 1821.. He was transported for seven years on the Isabella. Also would you know if the Belfast Newsletter is indexed after 1800, I know it is until then. There could be a chance Patrick was mentioned in that publication. Many thanks. Maureen O'Connor

Hi Joan Yes, I did have this information. However, I do appreciate you sharing with us anyway. You just never know, sometimes the information is not known to a researcher. It may be of use to many other of the descendants of Joseph Wright. Thanks again Kevin Wilson Brisbane Q Hello Kevin, I found this reference to Joseph Wright in my book "Land Grants 1788-1809 - A record of registered grants and leases in NSW; VDL; and NI" published by the Australian documents Library circa 1981. I presume this is your man - apologies if you already have this information. 1794 Book 1A - Grants by Francis Grose No 206 Joseph Wright 3rd November1794 Granted 30 acres on the east side of the river Hawkesbury in the district of Mulgrave Place. Rent 1 shilling per year commencing after 10 years. Joan Nichols

Hi Louise, Thanks, but no not him. The one I am after was born in 1830 so a bit young to be convicted at three years of age. He was still living with his parents in Kent at the time of the 1851 census in the old country. Means he missed out on being transported. Maybe he belongs to the next great wave of population boosters for Australia - people after gold. Great ancestors we have. The majority of the first wave were convicts, then the next lot were greedy sods after gold. Turned out pretty well though for all that didn't we? Best regards, John
