Many thanks Lesley for you help. We have his life story and how he bucked the system of that time, his wife and son James continued to live on "CAVAN" Station. Thanks for your help with this. Everyone on the list is so experienced that they usually know where to point me. Ian I am not sure, but Thomas was the son of John Collison/Collinson who arrived as a convict on the Glory in 1818 and was living in Windsor when he married. Both Thomas Collison per Countess of Harcourt and John Collison/Collinson per Glory (with his brother Joseph?) were tried in London, although 11 years apart. Hello listeners , Many years ago I recall seeing an old book at Globe street Sydney Before the Dept. moved to Kingswood, with records of convict's deaths from their masters etc. Would any member recall seeing it please. Our ancestor Thomas Collison who arrived on the convict ship " Countess Oh Harcout' 1828, was assigned as a Sheppard on the Rendell's property at BUNGENDORE & GIDLEIGH in 1845 where he died, no record can be found after many long years of searching. Many thanks Kath

Rob, there are three Mary Ann Cruse listings on Archives of Tasmania's "Colonial Tasmanian Families link". I know because I was researching a Cruse family in Tasmania, but the listed date of births are 1804, 1853 and 1856, so don't think any of these would be your Mary Ann Cruse. Rob I would say that Mary Ann is probably the one who was born to John and Catherine about 1820 or 1821 and possibly baptised in 1824. Listed as Cruiss in the 1828 NSW Census and residing with William Fowler of Hunters Hill at that time. It appears as though two siblings were living at the Female Factory in 1828. Mary Shea arrived Free on the Magistrate that arrived in July 1838 Regards Lesley Uebel http://www.claimaconvict.net/index.html CLAIM A CONVICT email: [email protected] On 22/07/2011 9:46 AM, Rob Coughlan wrote: > I'm searching for a Mary Ann Cruse born approximately 1820-1822. Hi Rob Willian Bunn, the convict per Asia stated he was 21 in 1820. He was a Lifer and received various TOLs between 1829 and 1849 - no mention of a Pardon of any description. As I said, I think he may be the one who died in 1852 aged 54. It was not until after I posted my message that I realised that you were talking about Annie Kershaw. As she had a number of small children to support when her husband died young she probably needed financial support (or protection). Thanks Jerry and Lesley. The William Henry Bunn who died in 1880 is wrong one. I'm after the guy who married Ann Coughlan. He seems to disappear off the scene sometime in late 1860's. Slowly going through all the BDM certificates. He married my 4g grandmother after he husband, Michael Coughlan Florentia (1) died. Without records it is difficult to identify when he came to Australia or if he was born here. Ann was 33 when she re-married (born 1822 Rochdale England). There are no clues on their marriage certificate. Any idea how old the Bunn (Asia) was in 1820. She might have married an older man.
Rob, There was a William Bunn who arrived as a convict in 1820 on board the Asia. I think he died in 1852 and therfore probably not the one you are looking for? There was a William H Bunn who died in 1880 son of Edward and Amelia 533/1880 BUNN WILLIAM H EDWARD AMELIA SYDNEY The 1828 NSW Census has an Amelia Bunn who arrived free on the Eliza in 1828. It could be that she married (again) in 1831 to John H Lancey or Lanceg Regards Lesley Uebel http://www.claimaconvict.net/index.html CLAIM A CONVICT email: [email protected] On 16/07/2011 10:34 AM, Rob Coughlan wrote: > I'm tracking a man named William Henry Bunn. I'm tracking a man named William Henry Bunn. Not sure if if he a convict, native born, or came free. Any info?
Hi Rob, Below is a site for some information on William Henry Bunn. On August 6th 1855,he married Anne Coghlan ( Coughlan ). Searching the archives from BDM NSW AU shows Anne's name recorded as Coghlan. Hope this helps in some way.
