    3. Dear Elaine. Your first port of call for NSW places is "Land and Property Information" http://www.lpi.nsw.gov.au You will find the Historic Town, Parish, County and Pastoral map database from the above at: http://www.lpi.nsw.gov.au/maps/pmap/search/pmap_websearch.display When you put in ....... Warren .... You are given 8 choices, one of which is "Warren Downs" There are then historic maps from 1885 (two), 1893 and 1923 1885 was the year when the first Land Courts were held. The winners of the ballot became known as "Selectors". I have just finished reading "On our Selection" by Steel Rudd (A collection of the published stories about 'Dad & Dave) which gives a great insight into what life was like back in that era. Cheers for now, Tony Moore @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ ----- Original Message ----- From: Alan & Elaine Rogers <erogers@powerup.com.au> Date: Saturday, March 20, 2004 5:50 pm Subject: [NSW-W] Warren Downs > Dear Listers, I have come across a Charles Read in the NSW probate > indexas having died 12-6-1921 .residence is "Warren Downs" Caruda. > Is anyone > able to tell me where this place may be or where to look.
