Does the surname Waugh from the Nyngan / Warren area mean anything to anyone? I was putting away some old notes on the weekend when I stumbled on some that I made relating to an uncle who died in Warren in 1930. Along side his DOB and DOD I have written the note "worked for Waugh". Problem is that I have no idea who Waugh is or where I would have gotten that information. All we know about this Uncle is that he died in Warren, in December 1930, 4 months after his fathers death in Sydney. He was thrown by a horse (or so the family have been told) but no one in the family has any idea of what he was doing in Warren or why (there are a few theories but nothing with any fact). I have been fumbling around with our family tree for 15 years or so, but started with my mothers family. I am guessing I made this note while in the State Library, 15 years ago. While we were waiting for things to come from the stack (the days before everything was on microfilm) we would often browse around other family names. I just have no idea where I would have gotten any information though. It was an accidental death, no inquest or anything and he was very young. We used to read the old Nyngan papers, but don't remember ever coming across anything relating to this brother. A lesson learnt to reference the sources of all information even in notes - but in the meantime I am left with a big question mark. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas......... PS after many years of trying to find an uncle who was last seen in 1939, I can happily say he is found and its a great feeling. He changed his name to join up in WW2 and lived the rest of his life under that assumed name, making finding him very very difficult. Thank goodness for computers and the ready access of information these days. I only wish we had had all of this 30 years ago - he need never have died alone. I have not lost my mind - it's backed up on disk somewhere. -- Unknown Keep Looking For Rainbows!! _--_|\ /Karen \ \ _.--._ / v Karen, Mum to Alex (8 years, T-18 Mosaic) http://members.optushome.com.au/karens Karen
