    3. Hi Listeners, I attended a ceremony on the 'Protection and Recognition of Old Polia-Greenvale Cemetery' last Sunday. The cemetery is on Greenvale Station which is off the old Pooncarie Road between Menindee and Pooncarie. The cemetery was registered on 7th April 1916 but the oldest grave is of John McLean 1849, also William McLean 1869 and Annie Page 1925. It is thought that there could be more than 25 people buried there. There was more than 60 people present and I would like to congratulate the people who fenced the area and erected the sign for the cemetery. Polia was a very large property before it was broken up into blocks. I have a 1881-2 Electoral Roll and 34 people (all men-women could not vote in those days) were listed for Polia. It is wonderful to see that such old cemeteries are being preserved. Mary
