Hi Jim, My great Uncle, Joe Hogan had the post office at Louth until about 1950 when my father took it over. We lived there for a couple of years before moving back to Sydney. Joe then moved to Brewarrina where I think he was again the post master. My parents met in Bourke in 1938. My cousin still has a property on the Darling at Louth. I think you would be surprised to see the change in the type of farming undertaken in the area now. I must say that Brewarrina to LA is quite a cultural change. How is the Aussie accent? Though our family left the area in 1963 (My Father had "BUNNAWANNA" on the Bourke road from the end of the war 'till then..) I have happy memories of growing up there in the 50s.Though I've lived in the US for nearly 30 years now and I'm fairly out of touch I'd still be very pleased to hear from anyone who has an interest in Bre' and the surrounding towns..Best regards , > Jim Fisher > los Angeles, Ca. >
