Hello Juliette My father is Cecil Joseph Delaney nickname Pat. He lives in Orange but originally from Canowindra he was born 22/7/1921 and is still alive. His parents were Sydney Herbert Delaney and Louisa Pluis. Sydney's parents were John Delaney and Mary Anne Grant. John Delaney is a son to Nicholas Delaney and Elizabeth Bayley. Nicholas was sent to Australia in 1802 as a convict. There are plans for a two hundred years anniversary of his arrival in Australia in 2002. John Delaney married twice his first wife was Ellen Gilligan which he had 13 children, she died during childbirth of number 13. He had ten children to Mary Anne. John Delaney is buried in the Old Dubbo Cemetry but I cant find his grave, he died in 1892. I am interested to know where you are connected. Dear Louise, Thank you for the Delaney information: we had been hoping we had met a new cousin but unless they were connected in the old country it doesn't look like it. Col's Michael Delaney was born in Kilkenny and came out 1832 as a convict. I've put some of his info up on: The Hendry, Delaney, Cooper & Upton History Pages http://www.angelfire.com/bc/chendry/index.New.html Many thanks for your reply, regards Juliette
