Hi John, I remembered the correspondence regards Peisley, but I had deleted it as it had no relevence to my research, so your memo is opportune. Yesterday while I was looking for something else on an old map I came across a "Peisley Park". It is located 83 k's west of Nevertire off the Mitchell Highway on the way to Nyngan, the next closest town/village would be Nymagee. "Orange 1860 - 1960" pge 30 "John Peisley the first chairman (City Council), was born at Parramatta where his father, also John, lived for a number of years. Peisley Senior came to New South Wales in 1802 and acquired some property in Parramatta. He held an inn licence there for several years, and rented one of the Toll Gates on the Western Road between Parramatta and Emu Ford. Peisley also had an inn at Prospect known as the 'Fox Under the Hill. John Peilsey Jnr, was born in 1806 or 1807 and was living at Parramatta in 1828. he obtained a licence for the 'Coach and Horses' inn in 1838 and spent the rest of his life in Orange. He was the town's first Council Chairman and on the 8th December 1860, was elected for the constituency of Orange in the N.S.W. Parliament, but resigned his seat on 10th June 1862. There are also Peisley's at Dubbo and I think it was Parkes (?) ! There is also a street names Peisley in ORANGE. Jennifer
Having come from just east of Nymagee I thought the name was Paisley Park.
