INVITATION Members of Families that were connected with the northern area of the Berry Estate and surrounding districts in 1901 are invited to a Celebratory Picnic on the Berry Showground on Saturday 12 May 2001. This is to commemorate the picnic held as part of the official NSW State Program when the Government sent 2 train loads of official guests to the Berry Showground, for the trip and picnic. Although this was held the same week as the Federation Celebrations in Sydney the 2001 event will be held 12 May 2001. The Berry and District Historical Society is co-ordinators of the event assisted by local organisations. Perhaps your family would like to assist in mounting a small display with perhaps a small outline of your history and the district to where your families have spread. I am currently calling for expressions of interest and the space available for each family will depend on the number of acceptances. Perhaps your family would like to enter a float in the procession or march as a group under a family banner. maybe even in costume.
