I am interested in this couple who had possibly four children, the last being Elizabeth Louisa HANCOCK born Teryawinia 1883. William, born in Dublin, IRL, listed his occupation as "trapper". By 1888 Sarah had married again in Wilcannia to Frederick Linton WESTMORE, yet William HANCOCK apparently appears on some databases in this site variously as an 1887 Property Holder (Weinteriga) and as a Refused Homestead Lease 1899 (Wilcannia, Co Woore, Par Cathkin). I have been unable to find a marriage record for this HANCOCK / DIXON couple which, according to Elizabeth's birth certification, supposedly took place in Victoria 27th July 1877. My particular interest is Sarah (my great grandmother by her second marriage), but nothing much is known of her early life or first marriage and how she and William separated (it was always presumed, apparently incorrectly, that he died prematurely). Any information on William HANCOCK, Sarah DIXON (DICKSON) and where/what was Teryawinia would be exciting. Similarly any information on Sarah's life in Wilcannia with her second husband over the period 1888-1897 where he variously listed his occupation as a Musician, Labourer and Baker would be invaluable. Two of Frederick and Sarah's children died at a young age and are buried at Wilcannia. I would be very interested in any background information on Teryawinia and Wilcannia circa 1880-1900 too.
