    3. Hi List I was interested in Rusheen's question as I have often wondered how my family made the journey from Wagga to Bourke when they established themselves there. Some of you may have reports of how your family travelled when they moved to another centre. Would the men have gone on horseback to check it out first? Did the women travel with the goods by cart, or did thy go by river, or on Cobb and Co? How long would it have taken. Where would they have stopped on the way? If anyone has stories they could share, I would love to hear them, just to get the sense of what it was like. Jill

    3. Like wise I have a widow Mary Keating travelling from Pipe Clay creek near Mudgee by bullock wagon to "Leaholme" Coonamble. From the daughter Margaret's marriage in 1888 in Coonamble indicates they arrived prior to this year. Kitty Wilson of Quambone believes it was the mid 1880s. Anyone have any ideas the route and time taken cheers Peter ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nelson & Livingstone" <panjil@bigpond.net.au> To: <AUS-NSW-WEST-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 17, 2004 3:13 PM Subject: [NSW-W] travelling time Wagga to Bourke > Hi List > I was interested in Rusheen's question as I have often wondered how my family made the journey from Wagga to Bourke when they established themselves there.
