I am sorry this is such a late reply, but I just found this in the book 'Bushman of the Great Annabranch' by Maxine Withers page 77. 'There was a washpool at Anabranch Station and one of four graves near the old wool shed is that of a thirty year old wool washer, Francis Friell, who died of consumption on 30th August 1874.' A Friell family also lived in the Pooncarie district. The headstone inscription says. 'in loving remembrance of James Friel who died 30 August 1894". I have searched the NSW deaths-on-line and cannot find a death for James. Would anyone know where I can get more information on the death or the station owners records. If the stonemason could be traced there may be records of who ordered the headstone which may be a further lead. Any help would be appreciated. > Muriel Regnaud (Nth Qld). > > > ==== AUS-NSW-WEST Mailing List ==== > The List-admin for this list can be contacted by e-mailing > AUS-NSW-WEST-admin@rootsweb.com > > >
