Hello Bruce 'Wooloondool' Station is about 10km from Hay on the North side of the Murrumbidgee River. It is thought the original station stretched nearly to Booligal - as yet I have not managed to look at any early maps of the runs. According to an extract I have from "The Riverina: People and Properties" by R.B. Ronald 'Wooloondool' Station near Hay was taken up by ?McEvoy (sorry I don't have a photocopy of the previous page) who held it until his death in 1873. It was carried on by his son William McEvoy who sold it to Theo Watson in 1877. My husband's Great Great Uncle Charles Gideon Stewart and ?McGee purchased 'Wooloondool' from Theo Watson in 1879 and later the managing partner Charles Gideon Stewart became sole owner. It remained in Charles Gideon's hands until just prior to his death in 1916. I have located the homestead "Teryawynia" (at least on a map) on the banks of Talyawalka Creek, which is, as was suggested, a tributary of the Darling. Hi Bruce and Roz, On my 1879 map, "Wooloondool" was just slightly downstream from Hay. It stretched about two fifths of the way to Booligal. A small wedge of land above "Wooloondool" was called "Wooloombye". The other blocks between "Wooloondool" and Booligal were "Overall Plains Block A", "Overall Plains", "Wallaby Blocks A and B" and "Wallaby". Upstream from "Wooloondool" were the properties "Police Point" or "Elelewah" (alternative names being given), "Beabala", and "Howlong". Downstream from "Wooloondool" were "Benduck", "Coonon Point", and "Punpaympa" (which included the township of Maude). The property "Booligal" started at the township of Booligal and stretched downstream on the western side of the Lachlan River. The next property downstream was "Lake Waljeers". Could "Woones" possibly be "Wooyeo"? Downstream from the village of Euabalong, on the southern side of the river, were the properties "Euabalong", "Cargelligo", and then "Wooyeo".
