You would be well advised to join the Hunter Valley group at Rootsweb as this is based around Maitland. So long as you want Maitland in NSW that is. I live in Maitland, and know heaps of people at our Family History Circle (Maitland) who are on the list so maybe one of them can help you. I'm afraid I can't. I'm only new at this. I have the BDM's for NSW but 1840 is a bit out of the time frame except for some cases.
