Hello all, I have had some information on my( I think they are related) Flack family. If I find out who Ada's parents were then that would prove one way or the other. I need to know the date when Ada Flack died. I know that she is buried in the Narrandera Cemetery. Would some kind person have access to the Narrandera Cemetery information? kind regards, Lorene
Hello all, I am tracing Arthur Flack and his wife Ada nee Russell. Ada and Arthur had seven children who were born and lived in the Griffith/Narrandera areas between the years 1909 to 1917. Some of the people who married into the Flack family were WARREN, CHRISTIAN, ATKINSON AND SMITH. If you are interested in the above families in the areas mentioned please don't hesitate to contact me. Kind regards, Lorene Melbourne,
Hello all, Just posting my family interest. My great aunt Ada RUSSELL born 1886 married in 1908 to Arthur G. FLACK at Nymagee. I don't know what happened to this family, whether they moved elsewhere in N.S.W. or not. I have checked the Death records online up until 1945 and did not find their deaths, so I presume they died after 1945. Is anyone else searching or know of the FLACK/RUSSELL family? kind regards, Lorene

Hi List, Saw this on AUS-VIC-GOLDFIELDS Given the mention of Balranald in 1927, can anyone help??? Does Oak Plains mean anything to anyone in that area???? Linda ============================================= Date: Fri, 8 Sep 2000 18:28:40 +0100 From: "Daphne" <[email protected]> Hello All, I am hoping to trace any relatives descended from my second cousins AMY & MARY CLARKE. The following facts are gleaned from Mary's letters written home and are all I have. Amy (born c1898) and Mary (born c1906) CLARKE emigrated from GLOUCESTER in the UK, arriving in MELBOURNE in Spring 1925. Mary worked 'in service' in Melbourne first at Carmyle Avenue TOORAK. By 1927 she was at 22 Wilis St, MALVERN (possibly with a family DODDS) and later at 321 Glenferry Rd. Malvern. I presume that Amy was also in service; Mary's letters tell us that she (Amy) married and was living at OAK PLAINS with her husband and his two brothers. Amy had a daughter in 1927 giving birth at the Balranald Hospital. Mary became engaged to 'Arthur' in late 1927. Little is known of him other than he had a married brother in TRAWALA ( Letters also mention 'Arthur's married brother in BALARAT' - could be another brother or the same one in a different place) Hope bells might ring with someone! Daphne, Gloucester, England.

Hi List, This is just to let everyone know there is a new mailing list in Victoria, which adjoins this list. The WESTERN-DISTRICT list is at this stage taking from west of Colac and from the coast to the northern state boundary, unless some other lists start in, for example, Sunraysia around Mildura. The norther area is still just a little bit unclear. So, if you have border-hoppers, the address to subscribe is, for the list (individuals e-mails) [email protected] and for the Digest (all e-mails together) [email protected] Just send an e-mail with nothing in the subject line and only the word "subscribe" but without the Talkies, to either address above Cheers Linda Barraclough Briagolong, Victoria, Australia List Owner: AUS-NSW-WEST email: [email protected] http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~surreal/NSWW/
Hi List, The Victorian State Trustee often writes in "Ancestor" the Journal of the Genealogical Society of Victoria, seeking information on families so it can finalise estates. In this case, it needs to find the family of John James Clark (1879-1931). In particular, they are interested in: Henry CLARK (1852-1947, buried Hillston, NSW) mar. Mary Ann FOREST (1855-1920, buried Hillston) Children: Maud A. b.1886, mar. Herbert HORNE Margaret M. b.1887, mar. Joseph BROWN William Henry b.1889 Mary Ann b.1891, mar William Arthur FINCH Walter b.1893 George b. 1897 Queenie May, b 1899, mar. Manfred TRENT Most of the family seem to have been born or married around Hillston, although some married further east, around Temora or Grenfell All the children were alive iun June 1947 when Henry Clark died. Requests to the Hillstone Historical Society and local shire for cemetery information have gone unanswered. If anyone has a connection to the children of Henry Clark and Mary Ann Forrest, or knows who may hold the cemtery records for Hillston, please contact Rod Skilbeck, Genealogical Services, State Trustees. GPO Box 2462V, Melbourne, 3001, phone 03-9667 6779. -------- But I do wish he would give an e-mail. Don't you!!!! Anyone got any ideas???? Hi, My name is Julie and I am from Townsville North Qld, I have just rejoined the list and Would like to know if anyone has any information about the Mclean's around Boona West, Condobolin. I have a transcript of a letter my husbands grandfather wrote in 1910 and he gave the above address. He also states he & his brother were good mates with Will Ogilive around the timehe wrote FAIR GIRLS & GREY HORSES,AND THE BELLS ALONG THE MACQUAIRE. I am getting desperate to find where our Archie MCLEAN came from so if anyone can shed some light about this station or these people I would greatly appreciate it. Is there any Post office Lists for around the 1910 time frame? Also does anyone have a cemmetery listing for that area? Is their a History centre for this area? Many thanks, Julie Mclean

Hi all I have just joined this list and am posting my interests I have the following ancestors I am researching 1. William Henry Rowley (carpenter) married Mary Anne Donnelly(domestic assistant) in 1863 Registered at Mudgee - both were living at Talbragar. William died at Coonamble Road, Gilgandra in 1921 - he was then a farmer - I imagine in Gilgandra . Family history says he was associated with Nevertire at some stage. 2. Robert Nay(Ney) and Mary Flemming married (c 1840) and had a number of children. They travelled around the west and north west - he was a stockman . I have very little info on them, but one of their sons, George Nay married Mary Ann Pegler in Warialda. These were my great grandparents . 3. Mary Anne Pegler's parents were Robert Pegler and Mary Jane Nelson(born at Kissing Point -Sydney). I am trying to trace this lady before she arrived at Warialda. (i.e. before c1850). From 1850 onwards I am able to trace this family. Does anyone have any info on any of these people. Any help would be appreciated Pat W.
This is my first mail to this list. Hullo everyone. My gggrandfather William Stewart is said to have worked on these properties approx 1855-1875. Can anyone help me with information about them, the people who owned them and any records that might survive of their operations. Best of all would be records that might name William as a worker there. As far as I know he was a general labourer although he did cut stone for a building at Bowenfells later. His wife Bridget/Elizabeth/Eliza and son John b c1855 moved and camped with him when he worked on these places apparently so I presume John would have attended school where possible but worked when he was old enough. 'Wontabadgery' means - wonta, an aboriginal word and badgery after the BADGERY family who owned(?) the place, in the Murrumbidgee area. 'Burrambogie' was/is in Hay area. Any leads? TIA.
