Hello Judy I belong to the "Nepean Family History Society" and one of our ladies had a holiday in the Broken Hill area recently and from what I gathered at the last Committee meeting may have done some transcribing of the cemetery. It would be worth a phone call to our Secretary Sue Breeze on (02) 4735 1818 she may have more information to help you. 2. Hi John, I remembered the correspondence regards Peisley, but I had deleted it as it had no relevence to my research, so your memo is opportune. Yesterday while I was looking for something else on an old map I came across a "Peisley Park". It is located 83 k's west of Nevertire off the Mitchell Highway on the way to Nyngan, the next closest town/village would be Nymagee. 3. Hi Guys, Just a note to say it is wonderful to see some discussion on the list, but could people possibly try to just clip a bit off the bottom, instead of recycling all the old messages all the time. All you need to do, for those unfamiliar, is highlight and delete the bits that are no longer necessary. It helps cut down on bandwidth for Rootsweb, and makes Digests easier to follow for those who get the messages that way. But don't stop posting!!! :) Linda the List-Admin

    3. Hello Peter My orginal Agland was the convict buried at St. Bartholomew's Church Cemetery, Prospect John Agland who arrived in 1812 per the transport "Guildford" at this time I have over 70,000 connections to this line hear and in England. Though have not done a complete search on all the people I have names and dates for. After 1856 I am missing quite a few dates of BDM's but do have links with many certificates. I am curious as to what line you relative is connected to. Areas are mainly, Prospect, Hartley, Orange etc: Some names that connect are: PIKE, MANNING, WHILEY, WRIGHT, DAVIS, PEISLEY,SEARLE, CORNISH etc: Regards Hazel ----- Original Message ----- From: peter taylor <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, October 19, 2000 10:41 PM Subject: Re: [NSW-W] Re. 1. [NSW-W] MICHAEL O'MEARA AND CECILIA MADDEN
    2. Maureen Doyle
    3. Hi everyone, I have just subscribed and am looking for information on the O'Meara family who lived in Young NSW from 1919 to the 1960's, they later moved to Meadowbrook NSW. I am doing a heritage album up for my children and would love them to know of their great grandparents, I have been able to research back to the early 1800's for all my side but have hardly any information on my ex's side except for information I have researched on the family before they came to Australia. Sadly my ex-husbands family has cut us off and refuse to let my children know anything of their side of the family, which I feel is a great tragedy. We know that Michael O'Meara was born in Birr Tipperary in 1900, son of Anne McGrath and Michael O'Meara. Michael and his brother Edward came to Australia in 1912. Michael fought in the 1st world war in the 4th D.A.C. Battalion. After the war he went back to Ireland, married Cecilia Madden in Dublin in 1919 and they both came to Australia and settled at Young NSW. Michael and Cecilia had five children, Annie died as a child (cause of death unknown), then there was Catherine, Nina and Mary Jo and a son John who tragically spent all of his life in a mental asylum. I believe the family moved to Meadowbrook circa 1960's. Celia died in 1973 and Michael in 1948. Michaels brother Edward died in his early 30's and is buried at Botany. If anybody has any knowledge of this family I would dearly love to hear from you. Best regards Maureen

    3. Dear Margaret, Just a query.I have a Henderson in my research i.e. my great grandmother. She has been a real mystery to me. She was married to a John Henderson. This was her 2nd marriage. Previous marriage to Samuel John Parker Gill. Maiden name (many spellings) Bressinan/Bristowhen etc.I was once told she and her 2nd husband moved to N.S.W. ?around the area you have mentioned.Along shot I know but can you see any connection. They had a son Alexander but he changed his surname to Parker along with his two half brothers.Regards Elaine Margaret Gallpen wrote: > I have been lucky enough to obtain a copy of a letter sent by my great > grand-mother to Xavier College Melbourne with her address Mary Ziele, c/- > Henderson Bros Yathong Hillston NSW dated November 1882. > She indicates she will send school fees by Mr Henderson on his next trip to > Melbourne. 3. I have been lucky enough to obtain a copy of a letter sent by my great grand-mother to Xavier College Melbourne with her address Mary Ziele, c/- Henderson Bros Yathong Hillston NSW dated November 1882. She indicates she will send school fees by Mr Henderson on his next trip to Melbourne. Yathong is now a nature reserve. We have contacted the Henderson family at Hillston but they came from an entirely different area. Mary was a cook but it seems an extraordinary distance to travel from Melbourne for work. Cobb & Co operated through that area at that time, rail came much later The questions - What was Yathong 1882/1883. Property, mining or ? Henderson Bros - What connection did the Hendersons have with Yathong, Hillston or Cobb & Co or with some other means of travel between there and Melbourne. I would be grateful if anyone has any information or suggestions where I might try next.
