Hi Bill. I'll do as you suggest. Last night I just couldn't look any more as I'd gone cross-eyed with exhaustion! The plot is thickening. If only I could find things about him prior to 1900 but I've had no luck in 25 years of searching.....grrr. What I'm hoping is that if there truly was a child, I hope it's a boy as if I can find a male in my grt grandfather's line then DNA is a possibility. As it stands now, the sons we knew of are dead and he cannot be traced through his female descendants. I have no idea where he came from and only have records from 1900 to 1928 when he died. Being a Showman and sundry other things along the same line, and also living a nomadic life, Charles Coles probably wasn't his real name. I just hope this trail doesn't go cold.
