Dear Marcelle, If he was arrested by virtue of the warrant then there should be another entry to say that the warrant was executed. This would also give the name of the arresting Police and the date and place of arrest. Even if the complaint was withdrawn, then the warrant would be withdrawn, warranting an entry. You would probably need to go to Kingswood, where there may be a Photo in the Gaol Photo Description Book. If there is one, then it will give you all his previous criminal history too, if he had past charges. Gaol sentences have to be six months or over to have an entry in the Police Gazette, where Gaol Photos need not have a sentence restriction on them. Another thing you could do is on TROVE run his name through the Sydney Morning Herald. Unlike today several Children's Court matters were reported in the colums Central Police Court, Water Police Court or some suburban ones sometimes. Problem is that it could also be under some other heading too, if the journalist decided it was worthy of reporting, as a story rather than just the list of names in the Court list. Unfortunately some of the print in the SMH is not the best, so if one letter is defective in print in any way, it does not come up. That aside, this is a wonderful resource. Sincerely, Bill > > I found something in the NSW Police Gazette last night about my grt. > grandfather (at least I think it's him - certainly fits).
