Rest of your msg cropped by me..... CONGRATS!! Alison, that was a fine search and consequent reply. You are obviously a fine historian!! I know this slightly off topic, however the email address I use here is only for this purpose. The last couple of weeks I have been receiving at least 5 a day of spam type emails in relation to send my bank account details as I have either : won money in lottery Russian person wants me to help them access their account Nigerian wanting help. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem???? P.S I have deleted most of them, I would never send my details. Regards Tracey.
Hi all I had ten yesterday.....which doesn't happen often, as I have a really good spam filter, so that was odd. I always delete them without opening at all. . It makes me sad to see just how evil, greedy and deceitful the rest of the world is. It has nothing to do with poverty, as I grew up in a poor family, yet we never stole from anyone. It has everything to do with greed and envy........shame on them! I am extremely vigilant online, and since I became a victim of a scam a few weeks ago even more so. Problem is these wretched people are becoming so clever even the most careful of us are potentially a target. I only use this address now for the not so important mail and with many changes. My address book was stolen, fortunately, as far as I am aware, nobody was foolish enough to respond to the demands for money, but it was a nuisance sending out apologies and changing addresses This mail provider, however, is very good at putting all suspicious/spam into the spam folder, even some that's not. I think we can recognise some of the potentially suspicious mail. Since I was infiltrated I never leave any site I have visited with a password open once I have finished with it even if I will need it again later. I always delete my browsing at the end of the day, sometimes during the day if I have happened upon a site I am not happy with and even run a short anti-virus scan at the same time. D
Tracey As our email addresses are in the public domain as it were, every 'Tom, Dick & Harry' can find them and use them to no good purpose. Continue deleting them all - there's no way your bank would contact you in such a way. If a message sounds too good to be true (you've won $1 million) then it mostly likely is! You are lucky you found that burial ... I had my ggg grandfather Michael RICE, buried in the Sydney burial ground (prob under central station) .. and I cannot for the life of me find out where they moved him to .. he was buried in 1860. Maree
