Hi Robert, I saw your posting about the Melrose Boys Home at Pendle Hill and wondered if you have contacted or are a member of CLAN (Care Leavers of Australia Network). They are a support group for anyone who spent time in 'care' as a child. Their web address is: http://www.clan.org.au/ They have many members who lived in children's homes across Australia and put out a newsletter for members with a noticeboard where members can post enquiries such as yours. Just a thought that might be one avenue to try if you haven't done so already. I am involved with Linnwood (known as Lynwood Hall) at Guildford, which was a home for girls for many years, and as the Friends of Linnwood, we have had quite a bit to do with CLAN over the past few years and can highly recommend them. Also, a few years ago, one of the then staff members of the current Melrose Aged Care facility was researching the history of the home. You might try ringing them and see if it was ever published.
