I was the informant on my late husband's death cert; I gave correct details to the Funeral director, and yet when I received a copy of the death certificate , there was an obvious name error and it was misspelt also. Gloria
Dear Gloria, If you haven't already done so, inform the registrar BDM, and they will hastily correct and re-issue a certificate for you. They are well aware of their imperfections and haste during a time of bereavement and try to do their best. Even though I was the informant, my sister noticed that the certificate when issued, had Mum as widower rather than widow. She contacted the BDM office retyped and re-issued the certificate and apologised profusely.
