    3. Hi - we had an interesting transcription error in the NSW BDM for a while. Adelaide Rowohl had been transcribed as Alexander Rowohl... I guess that was fine until said Alexander was described as being married to another man, James S Grant. I finally wrote to them and it was amended very quickly. I suppose same sex marriage was even more out of the question in 1866 than it is now... she was dead within the year though. All very sad. Rosemary

    3. My understanding that that the BDM NSW transcription was contracted to a company that used Manilla {Philipines} labour to do the job.; hence the errors [not recognising sex of person] also errors in spelling of names. My GGF O'Donoghue transcribed O'Donogmue. This can lead to not being able to find your person of interest. Peter O'D Central coast NSW
