In my researching tonight: I've come up with a query in that I feel the transcribing of Births for NSW BDM may be incorrect? I was seeking to find children born to a couple: entering the family Surname, followed by both the Father's and Mother's Christian names. I entered the search period from 1845 - 1911 and up came 4 entries; 3 of whom I am quite certain are the children being sought. 2 children are shown as being Born 2005 and the other as 1906? Could it be that someone's made a "Typo"; entering 2005, instead of 1905? I would be most interested to learn if others have found this? Robert KEMSLEY

Errors in transcription do occur. Registrars here do make errors. We should advise the current Registrar of the apparent error. Note! The entry and subsequent Certificates do not purport to be correct. The "facts" therein are not necessarily true. I once purchased a VIC cert using the info I found in the official Index. The Index was in error. VIC registrar apologised for the Index error. Refunded my payment. Alistair
