Can anyone tell me if the Newington asylum (Granville/Parramatta) still stands, and if so what it now is? If not, what is on the site where it once was. I have a vague memory that it might now be a prison??? I have perused the photos on PICMAN at the State library, yet they are all late pictures. My g grandmother died their in 1906 so I'm researching archives from that time. Has anyone been through the archives of the old asylum? Are the archives available? Are they at the Mitchell? I greatly appreciate any assistance you can give me Kind Regards Alison
