    3. Marg Thanks for posting this info, it is some time since I have had a look at the state archives. I have found some probate information on some of my relations. Do you know if they provide photcopies of the information, for a price I am sure. Thanks Howard Hi Joy > Haven't found any online indexes though. > I did mention this in my reply but didnt give exact info If you go to www.records.nsw.gov.au This the main page of NSW State Records web site . It has a huge amount of info in various sections . One of these is named 'Archives Investigator' Click on that and you will get a choice of searches ........ Click on 'simple search' Or http://investigator.records.nsw.gov.au/simple.asp type in the name of the person who you hoped left a will and keep your fingers crossed ! Never know what might pop up ! If you type in LANDENBERGER, plans for hotel alterations come up. DOLLIN 2 wills and a divorce : BRAMBLE throws up a curious ref .......... 3. Dear Howard, With the Probate Number anyone can go to State Records 9-5 M/F and 10-4 Saturday. >From that number you look up another register in the Reading Room which gives you a container number. Fill out a form requesting that file come to the reading room, limit of four per trip, which in rough terms go hourly on the half hour. You can then view the file, flagging what you want copied, fill out a copy form and submit it. Unless you want a lot of copying, and they are busy, your copies will be ready by the time you wish to leave. 45cents per A4 and $2 A3. You may use a digital camera on most files with permission, without flash. One of the transcription agents I believe will do it for you for something like $25 per file plus copying, but this is only from information passed on to me. Sincerely,Bill > > Thanks for posting this info, it is some time since I have had a look at > the state archives. I have found some probate information on some of my > relations.
