These sound to to me be more like deceased estate files ??????????? These are estate inventories compiled for the assessment of death duty . So no reason to have copy of any will > > So I think wills are obtained from the Supreme Court, > not State Records. The Supreme Court is the generator of Probate records ............. The State Archives is the keeper of such to 1965 . If you want copy of a post 1965 will then you need to contact the Supreme Court . Although early next year Probate packets will be available up to 1966 for the price of photocopying via a personal visit As to what might be in one of these packets if you go to www.records.nsw.gov.au top right hand corner is a search thingy > type in' probate packets' > search and a lot of different refs come up including : http://tinyurl.com/ycwkqd These packets have been available on public access for price of photocopying now for over 2 years . You can access later probate packets but do so you need to be the executor of the will and is costs about $85 from the Supreme Court Is > that other people's experience?
