Hello Listers, I have been told that certain information about LEONARD ADOLPHUS HAMILTON is held by the above Hospital but access to the records is only available by making a personal visit. Would this be true? Also, I have been told that they will not make photocopies of documents as this would contravene the law. I understand he was buried in a Pauper's Grave (unmarked). Is there any other method to access the information? Finally, would anyone have access to a CD to look for his birth (C1873)death (C1929) and possible marriage information? I do not know his age at the date of death. He was the son of WILLIAM and ANNIE (ANNE) HAMILTON. (News about this couple would be good). Any help or guidance would be much appreciated! Hi John, The NSW Births deaths and marriages are on line at http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/ where you should find his birth and death. Why not phone the Medical Records department of Liverpool Hospital and ask them what the real story is about accessing their records, assuming the Asylum was part of the general hospital. Dear John, Paupers burials were handled by Police and the City Coroner. Extensive enquiries had to be made to ascertain that there was no relative to pay, before the government paid for a funeral, and it was a very basic funeral.
