Hi..I am hoping to contact the relatives of the four boys listed below...all served with the Australian forces during World War One. Arthur: Born, Sherburn, Co, Durham. 1892. Served with the Australian forces, killed in Action in France, 26 July, 1916. Edward: Born, Sherburn, Co, Durham.15th October, 1893. Served with the Australian forces. Returned to Australia. Charles: Born, Sherburn, Co, Durham. 1891. Served with the Australian forces. Returned to Australia. John: Born, Sherburn, Co, Durham. 1887. Served with the Australian forces.Returned to Australia. I know the boys had at least two sisters; Mary Ann Banks, born, Littletown, Co, Durham, 1880. and Ann B H Banks, Littletown, Co, Durham, 1881. Although there was possibly more children, including, Rachel E Banks born, Littletown, Co, Durham, 1883, and Lily Banks, born, Sherburn, Co, Durham. 1895. The Banks children's parents were William Banks, born, Littletown, Co, Durham, 1859, and Mary Ann Banks (nee Glass) born, High Langley,Witton Gilbert, Durham, 1858. William and Mary Ann were married in 1878. Both William and Mary Ann moved from England to Australia in early 1914?, with at least the four boys, and lived at 26-28 Watt Street, Newcastle, NSW, from 1914 until at least 1923.....I am not trying to trace the boys service records etc, I have those, but would love to be able to contact any of the Banks family members now living in Australia. Thanks John.
