Hi Keith, As you live in Wales you may not be aware that Australian certificates hold a great deal more information than English ones, provided the informant had the info, that is. A death certificate, which can be ordered online from NSW BDM, could contain the date of death, address of person plus where he died, age at death, cause of death, duration of cause, parents names including mother's maiden name, name of wife (if married), names and ages of living children (if any), number of deceased children, place of marriage, age at marriage, place of burial and name and address of informant. Some older ones even mention when they arrived in the colony. In short, a whole history if you are lucky, and many are. It is well worth the money. Regards, Royalene, Wyong, N.S.W. Australia.
Thanks Royalene for that valuable information. I have already sent for the two death certificates of George Thomas Roberts d 1943 and his wife Mary Teresa d 1973 so 10 days stated turnaround plus post time to UK seems a long way away. Can`t wait now that I am so close!! Thanks again, Keith Roberts. Dear Keith, If I can add a bit to Royalene, there are also transcriptions available at a reduced rate. They too contain all the same information. I get mine from www.marbract.com.au Sincerely,Bill > Hi Keith, > As you live in Wales you may not be aware that Australian certificates > hold > a great deal more information than English ones, provided the informant > had
