Good afternoon List, I wonder if some kind member of the list could assist me with an explanation. I have read these films a number of times transcribing details for my family records. However I am rereading them with the sole purpose of obtaining authenticating copies of relative pages and started on the C of E Chronological Index 1787-1831 [# 993948] of Baptisms, today and for the sake of accuracy could someone explain what the letters A, B, C, or D written against the Church listed on the right hand page under the heading "Where Registered" mean. Dear Rex, I have not seen the LDS film, but you may be interested in the following page from the NSW bdm site: http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/churchCodes.htm There are 26 different C of E places of registration / parishes listed for early church records before civil registration began.
