Hi Everyone, Can someone please do a look up for me at a family history library? The surname is McMenamee, first names Bridget, Hannah and Mary. They arrived in Sydney in 1861 aboard the Hotspur. I would like to know where they came from and if they had relatives residing in Sydney. The reel number is 2139. When my great, great grandfather John McMenamin, arrived in 1866 aboard the Queen of the East, records state that he had a sister Hannah, living in Sydney. I am trying to ascertain if this Hannah, and her sisters, are John's sisters. Anyone any other ideas? Thank you in anticipation. Jen.
Hi Jen Pity - I was at State Records today! For 1861 Hotspur only one reel mentioned as you say 2139 - this one is the shipping record I think and may not have relatives listed - most of the arrivals certainly after 1866 have 2 reels mentioned - first is the shipping/ passenger lists info and the second is immigration which is the one most likely to include relatives.
