Marg said to put the details on the list, so here goes: I am living in England, though originally from Wales. The Martins are my mums side of the family. In 1968, Thomas Martin (my mums uncle) sent a letter to the local newspaper in Barry, South Wales, UK asking for members of his family to contact him. This is what the article said: " A Barry born man who left town in 1948 to emigrate to Australia has appealed through the Barry and District News for news of his relatives. He is Mr Thomas William Martin, now living at 23 Septimus Street, Erskineville, New South Wales. 'I would dearly love to hear from my family as I get kind of lonesome out here and my sons would like to hear from their uncle and aunts, whom they have never seen or heard of.' The family did reply to his appeal but none of the correspondence has survived. I don't know if my Great Uncle Tom is still alive or not. He would be coming close to being 90 years old by now.
