It's been over a year since I posted my interests on the list so I thought I would do so again. I am researching the following families who lived in the Sydney area from 1870s onwards. HICKSON: Peter and Matilda Ann [nee Sheppard] married Nambucca River 1868. Their children were: Walter 1869, Ada Matilda 1869, William Peter 1871, George Thomas 1873, Mary Rebecca 1875 - died 1876, Edward 1877, Frederick 1877, Benjamin 1879. This family moved to Sydney between 1873 and 1875. George Thomas HICKSON married Sarah Jane TUNE 1897 Their children were: Ernest Henry 1893 [prior to their marriage], Alfred Thomas 1897, Edward George 1899, Ruby b 1904-died 1904, Leslie Frank 1908, Albert John, 1910, Mabel Helena 1906, Lina Mary 1912 Ernest Henry HICKSON married Jane Alice [Jean] Thomas in 1919- My Grandparents TUNE: George and Lina Mary [nee WATKINSON] arrived from Lincolnshire England in 1886 with children: Thomas George 1872 [died 1901 USA] Henry Albert 1873, Sarah Jane 1874 [see above], John Peter 1876, Catherine Mary 1879. Catherine Mary TUNE married Arthur Ernest Henry LOVE 1896. Known children Arthur 1896, Reginald 1908. HOULIHAN/HOOLAHAN and other variations: William HOULIHAN and Alice Maragaret DOWLING arrived from Ireland and finally settled in the Sydeney area about 1878. Their children were: Mary J born Ireland 1865, Albert Joseph b Coonabaranbran 1873, Ellen L b Coonabarabran 1875, William John b Waterloo 1878, Maragaret Alice [aka Alice Margaret] born 1880 married Henry THOMAS. THOMAS: John Alexander born England about 1850, son of John Triggs THOMAS and Jane Ann GREGORY. John married [1] Mary Jane [Jane] Finnemore in 1872 in Surrey Hills Sydney. Their children were: Helen Elizabeth [Elizabeth Ellen] born 1873, Henry born 1879 married HOULIHAN [see above], 5 male children who died young. [2] Victoria Harriet KNIGHT in 1898 the same year his first wife died. Victoria already had one child, Jaqueline H.V.H KNIGHT, who later took the THOMAS surname and quite possibly was John's natural daughter. I have lots of information to share on my direct line as well as some on the side branches. I would be very interested to hear from anyone else researching these families. Hi Jenny Do you have a Thelma Wylie HICKSON b1910 in Penshurst, NSW? I am interested as there was a marriage in 1939 between William Robert BRIMSTONE & Thelma Wylie HICKSON in NSW. I am connected to nearly every BRIMSTONE in NSW - but this one I am trying to prove a connection to. Any info, if you have it would be appreciated.
