Hi List, Hope this isn't too big a yarn for the list but I am new to this list and trying to track some information on Redfern hotels from about 1885 to 1905ish My GGrandmother was the licensee of the Bedford Hotel in Wells St Redfern when her husband died at aged 31yrs in 1897 of some sort of liver damage I guess a workplace injury. He was Ernest John Palmer. Gran was Mary Isabella (Hodges) Mary then married my GGrandfather James Costello that same year that Ernest died 1897, ON that Marriage Cert info says that she was a publican at the Bedford Hotel and James was a 'clicker' but appears he was running the York Hotel also in Wells St Redfern. Long winded story to ask the list if there may be any info or photos available on the Wells St Hotels. I believe they are no longer there. My Grandmother Marjorie Eileen Costello was born in the Bedford Hotel in 1899 Any assistance would be terrific, thanks and Regards Rod McDonald Sunshine Coast Qld
