My Ovens Anne arrived from County Tyrone Longfield in 1841 onboard the moffatt aged 21 she was a spinner went to work in Yass and married Patrick McGrath who arrived from Tyrone in 1840 Hi Christine, You have a surname very close to my husband's relatives. The surname is Overend but when they travelled from Ireland (Belfast) to Scotland in about 1858, the surname was wrongly transcribed as OVERN. It was also transcribed as NEREND in another transcription. Was you Ovens always written correctly? Jennifer.
