Hilda, Have you written, snail mail, to Tumut Plains? Perhaps someone on List can tell you how to contact the Tumut Local History Centre to see if Tumut Plains is still operating. My ancestor was a schoolmaster and we did have "Manar Station" at Braidwood as a birthplace for 2 of his children. I wrote to Manar Station requesting information and to my surprise the place was still in the same family and they did have records going back to 1858 so it did pay off.
