    3. Hello list, My ggrandmother Clara Jane Grant died (according to her death certificate) in 1883 at Marrickville Road, Marrickville. The cause of death says "operation collapse". Her baby daughter died a month before her mother aged 10 weeks. She left two very small daughters including my grandmother. I suspect it could have been in Marrickville Hospital but haven't been able to find any records. State Records come up negative for them. Can anyone help as to where I can look next.     3. "A Marrickville Cottage Hospital was opened on 10th June 1899 by the Governor of New South Wales Earl Beauchamp. After a site in Lilydale Street had been purchased for £ 334, a hospital with 12 beds was erected by J. Elstone, a local builder at a cost of £2,727." Quotation taken from Marrickville People and Places, by Meader Cashman and Carrolan. It would appear that it is not Marrickville hospital.
