Mrs Roberts was formerly Valerie Hughes, the only daughter of Mr and Mrs William McGregor Hughes, of Richmond, and the bridegroom is the only son of Mr and Mrs P. Roberts, of Cammeray. Librarian Ruth Forsyth has made the gown she will wear when she marries Ian Wheat at St Andrew’s Chatswood, on March 21. The short length dress is in white silk taffeta. Joy Palesy and Peter McHugh, who have announced their engagement at a party at Peter’s home at Caringbah last night, will be married at St. John’s Church, Glebe, on June 8 and the following day will leave in the Strathaird for a honeymoon in Europe and America. Verity Everingham and John Norman will leave in the Strathnaver on April 8 for three years in England, after their wedding at St. Andrew’s Cathedral on March 31. The Bride-to-be, who is the elder daughter of Dr and Mrs Clarence Everingham, of Penshurst, will be attended by her sister, Elizabeth Everingham and Helen Iverach, of Haberfield, John is the only son, of Mr and Mrs E. DeB. Norman, of Castlecrag. Mrs Don Saxton and Sue Ludowici will be hostesses at a party at Mrs Saxtons’s Bellevue Hill home next Saturday for Jan Goddard, who marries Peter Ludowici on March 21 at St. Phillip’s Church Hill. When they return from their honeymoon Jan and Peter will live at Newport until their home at Bilgola Heights is completed, Jan is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. J. M.
